I have a 50H i bought new way back when, never had any innergroove distortion, I used it
with a Shure V15 Type III and a Stanton 681EEE, do you have the overhang set correctly?
No warbling or flutter either.

I think so. As I understand it, that little pointed plastic appendage in front of the headshell (that is sometimes a brush, but not on mine) is the guide. You line up the stylus tip exactly with that point. Is that correct? What is the most accurate way to set overhang? I tried placing my protractor on the platter, but it won't fit. The arm rest is in the way.
Yes that is the way to set overhang on the 50H. If the stylus can touch that point, you're good to go.
If you're experiencing igd with most of your records, and the set up is correct(and it sounds like it is) then it's the stylus. Try another one.
I'm with Berger on this one.
By the way, the brush is on the other side of the pointy thing,
you unscrew it and turn it over.
