My Italian bike is an 80's model DeRosa. The other is a custom Richard Sachs. Love the Chris King stuff by the way. This year I'm looking at several centuries beginning late March. Have ridden longer rides but that was a long time ago, but if I had a motor....

Why is it that the more expensive the bike, the more it hurts your crotch?
"Why is it that the more expensive the bike, the more it hurts your crotch?""It's seat selection and adjustment that can be the deal breaker. Also, there is a difference comparing cheap shorts to premium models.
EDIT: My title should have read..,Its all about the saddle"

Spent summer of 87 in Northern Italy racing. Downtime was spent checking out the bike scene.Visited several manufacturers-Pinarello, Ciocc, Scapin. I think I met Mr De Rosa among other owners at a gathering. Good times-ride all day in the Italian Alps, ate amazing food/vino. Not a bad life, if you could do it for a living!
Nothing beats a made to order frameset. Enjoy the upcoming riding season on that RS.
I always liked the fancy lugwork of the Baylis frames. I just read he passed last year.
