No, obviously not, the damage is not rectifiable, I know that :) My late Dad left no records (no pun intended, but indeed he did) of the number of hours on the stylus, nor do I know when he purchased it, but knowing him he would have replaced the stylus if it needed to be replaced. In his honor I wanted to replace it with the same model stylus, but it's not available. These tiny diamonds are expensive, and not even wearable!

Haha - very good one, Tracy! :-))As I'm answering your post, I can't go back to the original post, to check ... so I'm not certain that you are talking about an MM cart. These usually have replacement stylus assemblies - if you can no longer buy one of these, you have the option of sending what you have to either Expert Stylus in the UK or Soundsmith in the US, to have the stylus replaced.
I had my Stanton WOS CS100 (MM) stylus replaced (I sent them the stylus assembly) by ES - and they did a wonderful job.

But as the stylus assembly is available as the Goldring, I think I'll go with that. Thanks again :)
