Came across this at the library and for $1 thought what the hell. Interested in any info you might have on this label. My Japanese? is really rusty:)

These are from RCA Japan. They are usually quite good quality. These are probably from the mid to late 60's. The earlier issues had the same dark maroon colored label as the US issues. The Victrola issues are the first stereo issues of these two recordings. Neither was issued as a shaded dog stereo RCA, only mono. They're good recordings. Nice find!

Note that Victrolas can sound very good. If you can find the equivalent Red Seal in good condition, it will gennerally sound better, but there are a lot of Victrola reissues of were it is very difficult to find originals in good condition. There are many excellent performance which are thought to find in better pressings. IMO they sound good enough that i listen and enjoy without worrying about it!
