Yeah that old Altec equipment is way cool, not to mention the other vintage stuff in your photo.Years ago, I had an elderly friend (she's gone as well) who's husband had passed away. He was an old school 1950s-60s audiophile, and an EE. He had a bunch of vintage equipment in disrepair in a garage. I rebuilt and modded a Dynaco ST-70 and a Pas3 preamp for her, to go with her Empire TT. The frosting on the cake was she also had an Altec voice of the theater speaker system, with the bass/mid bins, and the horns separate. She also had an awesome collection of connoisseur vinyl from the '50s to '60s (living stereo etc.) in great shape. I was amazed how good that stuff sounded.

That's a great story! How nice of you to do that for her.
Best,
Dan
Well it wasn't totally a gift. In return for that, on a material plane, I was given some cool vintage equipment. On a spiritual plane, visiting with her, and listening to the music was the real reward.
