The first two LPs I picked up on a West Coast visit with family. I had to pay almost premium prices for them but am I ever glad I snagged them. Great music. Thanks to my Ellyn for making me go to that store for these unexpected treasures.
Still spinnin'...

One of my favorites.
Strange. I posted that as the subject with nt., and nt in the message area, but it didn't show and this came back as an error with no text.
No idea what I did wrong.
No one knows what it's like to be hated...
But I'll have to say, my copy totally lacks any oomph. It always sounded really thin. Is it my copy or the recording?
nt
that recording is full of depth and oomph at every frequency on there
and should be as sonically satisfying as any recording you'll ever hear.
I have an early UK LP copy.
And the re mastered CD is... stunning.
"Once this was all Black Plasma and Imagination" -Michael McClure
I'll have to find another copy then. I picked this one up from a junk shop, along with Tommy. Both albums were in plastic replacement sleeves and were clean. Tommy sounds fine, but Who's Next just never sounded right. In that same bin were a whole bunch of artists starting with W, I should have gone through them more. It was apparently someone's collection that was dumped and she was selling them one batch at a time.
I think I paid $2 each. This was already a while ago.
regularly and hope they started from "Z" and are working backwards.
Sort out the pressings later.
Great, clean enuf titles for $2?
That's a...

This was at least 5 years ago, if not more. The lady that sells the stuff is still out on occasion, but never has any records anymore.
An outstanding composition. RTF has been a mainstay for me since 1972 and it was transcendent to have seen them on stage in 2008 (IIRC)
An for no reason other than the INCREDIBLE musicality and virtuosity of the band, The Mothers... if I could pick one Mothers album, this might be it, although Waka-Jawaka / Grand Wazoo, which I think of as one extended piece of music, is right up there.
Also have the soundtrack for "Shaft" on deck, gave me a wicked earworm yesterday.
Hey! 70-ish and sweet here is SoCal today. Sorry for your blizzards and stuff, you northerners... I'm going for a long bike ride down the beach when the sun breaks through after lunch.
Listening to the Dvorak Requiem available on Itunes, Ancerl; Czech Philharmonic.
Hopefully, this Southern snowstorm won't slow down the mails too much and soon I'll be able to spin this classic recording:
Saw "Princess Mononoke" in the theatre last night. Magnificent. Great on Blu-Ray, but seeing it on the big screen with a full house was sublime. Album includes tracks from it, "Howl's Moving Castle," "My Neighbors the Yamadas," "The Cat Returns," and "Spirited Away." Mondo release with four cover/vinyl color variants. I have the "Spirited Away" version with one green and one yellow disc.
Very cool! I've been to the Ghibli Museum in Mitaka, Tokyo twice. Haha, everyone needs to make the pilgramage.
great vibes!!! Miles Davis and the Modern Jazz Giants!!

Mingus Mingus Mingus I do enjoy and I am not much of a jazz man.

Little Feat "Hoy-Hoy" (fabulous sound!) and their eponymous first album.
cool stuff. Those Sun Ra LP's have been re-issued (I think) , but what hasn't? There are 2 others on Horo from the same era 1978, that are worth getting. Of course I love that AEC LP. I always bought anything w/ Lester Bowie on it, and I was always pleased.
Thanks P
LP Artist > Funkadelic Title> Maggot Brain
What can I say every so often I have to listen to that LP at least the opening cut. Mother Earth is pregnant for the third time for you all have knocked her up I have tasted the maggots of the mind of the universe but I was not offended for I knew I would have to (someone else finish it) Then one damn nine song due to the guitar work 1968 ? Don't hold me to that date.
If you never heard that cut it is worth a listen even on Youtube just to get the flavor.
