First two days of temps around 12 degrees along with 40-50 MPH winds now I wake up to the whole area nothing but ice can't even walk to the car, so no hanging out with the gang and listening to music damn well will just have to blast it at home let the neighbors know i am awake. Oh thats right it is winter i hate winter was born on the wrong side of this country for sure.

Just a rant

It's bitterly cold here in NW Wyoming. My dogs normally stay outdoors and are comfy in their insulated doghouse, but they've been spending the past couple nights in the studio. And of course they love listening to the music.

Come to Arizona....you never have to shovel snow again...
Woke up to 5 inches in Rhode Island. The snow turned to rain so it was very heavy snow. My 9 horsepower snowblower had a little tough time with it but driveway is now clear. Tomorrow it is going to be 60 and raining here. Friday morning it was a balmy 5 degrees. And Trump thinks global warming is a hoax!

San Diego likes to tout itself as having perfect weather. But even a 15 minute rain turns the highways slick and just watch the cars pile up. With so little rainfall ( we are classified as desert with an average of < 10" rain per year, and much less than that the last 6 years or so) we get more build up of rubber particles, oil, and grease on the roads so it takes a fair bit of rain to wash that away. Until that happens it can be almost like ice.
And then we have so many stupid drivers who don't believe they need to slow down or allow more distance from the vehicle in front with those conditions.
Not saying I'm a perfect driver but I grew up in MI and for driver's ed in high school the instructor had us practice on a vacant city skating rink. That experience saved my bacon (as well as at least my bumpers) more than once while still living in snow country. Now in SD I simply avoid driving during rain or shortly after whenever possible. No, it's not that cold, but nothing is perfect.

Ice here last night too. Snowing and 10 degrees now in the middle of the country.
Winter keeps the insects in check fer' sure.
Th variety it brings to the weather makes life more interesting.
And.. Way better than earthquakes or hurricanes
So far this season outside Rochester. ANd that was as of 5 p.m. FRiday.
...the snow just travels through, borne on 60-MPH winds to deposit inland somewhere. That's what we referred to as "freeze-yer'-nuts" country when I lived in upstate NY.
One thing about it is most places which get it are ready for it. They can take care of it in a snap. Places like Atlanta GA where anything frozen on the ground is a big problem. I hear Washington DC just all stay home if it is even a trace of snow.
This was after living in Cleveland for 4 years where 2 ft. of snow never closed anything.
Snow was nice when I was young living in Baltimore City. Steal a shovel I mean borrow a shovel and start early in the morning hit the bars and churches first they paid the most, then all the houses you could do always made a good bit of money. Now forget about it, if I was healthy sure nothing to it but not anymore. Keep it let the kids slide cuss they dont shovel anymore like we used to they just ask MOM for a few bucks.
