I use this one, $80 bucks with the height adjustments. Smoother and nicer looking than the Q-up.

The video for the Canadian one shows a lifter that is very well damped. The lift is smooth and controlled. That's what attracted me to it.
I'll report back in after I get mine and get it setup.

That's for the Deluxe Package with interchangeable sleeve lengths. The single sleeve ones are $199.00. Still pricey, but when you consider they are solid brass or stainless steel, and what you have invested in table, arm, cartridge and records, it's not so bad.

I guess it wouldn't be if the q-up didn't exist.
Actually I own two of them. And it works. I bought this new lifter anyway.
The Q-Up constantly needs readjustment but does the job. If you put a little glue in the mounting base (it slides back and forth in the base) it would not need readjustment but I'm not sure that would turn out OK either.
In the end this new lifter looks like a higher quality solution and considering what I have invested in hardware and LPs, its cheap.
I won't know whether its really any better until I try it but I was wondering what I would get myself for Christmas. I bought the full set with the multiple bases in brass color.

i can imagine that a small piece of scotch tape could anchor the sliding adjustment and it's not permanent like super (or any other) glue would be.
laa in all, the q-up would be my choice.

They copied the Llttle Fwend tonearm lifter from Norway, only somewhat clunkier looking- Unbelievable! I own the Little Fwend, which Music Direct now sells. I first saw it demoed at Stereophile's HIFI-2015 show in Westchester, NY where I ordered one. Works great, very gentle and smooth, beautifully made, much better than Q-up which I have, but is much rougher and less gentle in operation.
check it out- www.LittleFwend.com
