Every morning I wake up with a song playing in my head, it seems. If that ever stops I hope neurosurgeons can replace the fuses... Today it was Donovan... what can I say? Except thanks to a certain "Lea Kulianhi" who had the great foresight to buy this fine hunk of vinyl in 1969 (so I could have it waaaaayyyyy down the Time Tunnel today) and wrote her name on the label (both sides)!
Follow Ups:
Our local museum booked a traveling exhibit of Pop Music and Artist photographs- most depicting people/events from the 'boomer era and highlighting the "the 60's". One of the museum directors had a connection to Mr. Leitch, and he agreed to attend a private opening in exchanges for expenses.
He proved to be quite engaging and knowledgeable about the background of many of the photos.
The attendees at the private opening were directors and donors to the museum of a certain age...basically aging baby boomers. It was both interesting and surprising to see 60-70yr old women swoon like teenagers, and subtly compete with each other for Donovan's attention.
I went home and listened to some of his music.
I try to avoid anything with the word "boomer" associated- you saw why. May you live long enough and be cool enough to see museum exhibit made of your own life's cultural artifacts...
I was listening to Donovan last night. Perhaps his spirit wandered into your brain this morning...
Regards,
Tom
