Why did they do this....just confuses the brand
Doesn't look like it will be marketed as a VPI, but a collaboration w/ this other company branded as such. From the looks of the prices of the other stuff they sell this TT wont be cheap. Seems to cater to the young, hip, and well heeled. There are a few other adjectives I'd add, but there is no need to be offensive.

price was shown as $2,500.
to belt drive to rim drive to direct drive to unipivot arms, to captured bearing arms to inboard motors to outboard motors to.....didn't confuse the brand, LOL!

I was thinking it over and over... How about a version without the included phono, or at least a way to bypass it. That way anyone can have a Schitt-Shinola phono stage! LOLOLOL.
Naaahhh, you don't know Schiit from Shinola!
Couldn't resist.

What will likely be an all American analog product.
I own a few VPI products and have been intrigued by Shinola (not the shoe polish) for some time. The latter set up production of quality watches in the heart of Detroit and has since expanded to bicycles, leather goods, and other "craftsman" products. So this seems to be an interesting match up.
I grew up in MI and while I no longer live there I'm still pleased to see any signs of revival in Detroit, not that a turntable will turn things around. Rather, another step in the right direction.

Agree.
Who is Shinola? I thought that was a shoe polish.
