In Reply to: RE: Help for replacement AC Motor for LP12 posted by PAR on September 18, 2016 at 04:19:42
I know a fellow who is building a LP12 with 3 motors, and all three motors are premotec 220v 50Hz.
He has sent me the picture of this particular top plate for this project that is made by carbon fiber with 2mm thickness. Quite interesting!!
But the funny part is how he adjust Hemisphere for the speed of each motor??
His project has the plinth made by Ebony and all internal supporting are Mahogany. Baseboard is made of Bamboo wood.
Me only concern a replacement that can bettered the stock one, three motors is too complicated IMO. Nice to have a discussion on this three motors topic but not actually go for it!!

In that case if the guy has the right Promotec 220v motor then you know where to go for your answer.
I cannot find such a motor in the Promotec catalogue. The suitable turntable motors are 110v. However they can be run from 220v by inserting a 6.8KOhm resistor in series. Are you sure that this is not what he has done?
I'm sure he has 220v 50Hz as these are stock item from Linn factory made for 220v region. AFAIK, you can't find this item from Premotec catalog because this is custom item for Linn.
For sure the way he is doing will be a nightmare by adjusting the hemisphere 3 times for the setup!
I made a mistake. He has ebony plinth and mahogany for each corner brace of the ebony plinth, and bamboo wood for the cross brace, Alder wood for the baseboard.
That's why I am so curious to start a thread a while ago about this issue.
Way too complicated!!
