Greetings to all. Has anyone shopped for records in L.A. at The Last Bookstore? I'm in the area this weekend. Thanks!
Follow Ups:
There's a really nice hometown music shop in Long Beach called Fingerprint. Good vinyl, good prices, and nice folks. Also CDs and video, and a terrific coffee shop in the building too.
yes, i've stopped in there three times this past year....and in each case i found the employees to be 'stuffy', and the records to be overpriced, and in crummy condition (relatively speaking....certainly as compared to places like PM Sounds, Atomic Records, Record Surplus, etc). absolutely nothing i've seen there can't be found cheaper, and in better condition elsewhere.
all three of my visits were identical, so no need for me to experience a fourth time! lol
i was there once, parking isn't fun but i did buy there once within the last year.
...regards...tr
On the pricey side, but not a bad selection of jazz and blues. Also some quirky stuff.
Don't expect the volume or selection of the Hollywood Amoeba.
K.
MUCH better book selection, so don't neglect the second floor.
