In the Cooper/Young district. Plan on a meal or coffee while you're in the area.

Their website says they specialize in punk?
I saw soul, oldies, exotica, rock, country, tons of blues, etc. They might be the only game in town for punk.
My wife and I really like Memphis. Check out Earnestine &in Hazel's in the South Main arts district. Have a Soul Burger, Ghost River Golden Ale and bring coin for the juke box.
I wander if store name is any connection to John Hiatt and The Goners?
I don't know the answer. The wife and I visited Memphis twice last year. We found some areas of town (other than Beale St.) that we liked like the Cooper-Young district where Goner Records is located. The shop reminded me of some of the local neighborhood record stores I used to go to.
It had been awhile since we had been to Memphis. It was a little sketchy getting to and from Beale at night. Beale is still fun, but it was nice to discover a couple of areas of town that were just as fun as Beale to us.
