When I was in school (I'm now pretty old!) there was a clear liquid which could eradicate ink mistakes. It came in a small glass bottle with a solid glass rod applicator, like iodine, if you are not too young to remember that as well.
I've tried finding something similar for the same purpose as Kindablue but without success. If any Inmate is up on chemistry maybe they can suggest the basic ingredient for that?

the product I'm remembering was typically used with ink on white paper. So that may not have worked on any preprinted material with color.

At least I don't remember the ink eradicator having any bleach-like odor. But that was so long ago it is difficult to say now.
I've assumed it contained some chemical that was not environmentally friendly so taken off the market. Doubtful bleach would qualify on that count.
