A day of scrounging at yard sales yielded just two finds ... Simon & Garfunkel's Bookends (which I recently read was in Al Kooper's Top 100 list) and Chuck Mangione's Chase the Clouds Away. They'll be set aside for cleaning and transferring on a rainy day.
All in all, this is the thinnest I've ever seen at the start of the yard sale season. Plenty of Slim Whitman on LP, though.
And, oddly, next to zero in CDs. I could always count on finding some new-to-me music on the silver discs. Not so this weekend.
Follow Ups:
Last garage sale I went to, about two weeks ago, I walked in and asked, "Do you have any records?" "Not anymore" they said. "We gave all of them away earlier to someone else." That describes most of my garage sale shopping lately. I'm glad that you found a couple of good ones. I'd be happy to find either of those in good shape / low dollars.
Picked up a nice excellent condition Vg++ copy of Bookends on my last trip to Toledo Ohio. That completed my legacy collection S&G.
Have not been to Flea Market or Yard Sales yet ... but I'm expecting it to be similar to your experience. I'll try maybe this Friday ... weather cooperating.
Always liked S&G ... they sound good on original Vinyl.
