What make and model tonearm are you using? My SME V has a spring to apply tracking force. I don't believe it has ever changed over time, but I suppose it's possible for the spring to change over time thereby causing tracking force to change as a result. If the counterweight changes position, that would cause tracking force to change. If the cartridge slides forward or rearward in the headshell slots, that would also cause tracking force to change. There might be some other things that would cause tracking force to change so it's important to know what tonearm you're talking about.

That's a possibility, too.
How did you come to the conclusion that tracking force changed. Maybe your tracking force scale changed instead.

Hey there a Luxman PD-310 with vacuum for sale ... seems like a table you might be interested, or have opinion.
Asking too much (but love that JVC arm) ... if in US is in CAN $ :(
Thanks for the heads-up, but I think I have enough turntables already. In stead of a new turntable I'm thinking of buying some tube electronics. Some of my audio buddies think tubes are the only way to go so I'm thinking maybe I should try them before I kick the bucket. I guess tubes are on my bucket list. ;-)
Thanks,
