I want to thin out my record collection that is riddled with thrift store impulse buys-most of them never even listened to.
I don't expect anyone to comment on any inferior ones (unless they are so bad as to be funny),but to advise me which ones may be worth keeping.
I hate having to toss a record into the trash bin but it's possible that some of them deserve it and get a honorable burial.

You can say "This is not an offer to sell, nor a solicitation of offers to buy", but that is exactly how it will be viewed by some of the members here.
I would just check the closing auction prices on eBay of any records you want to cull. If someone is willing to pay for the record ... they have value ... if not, they can be culled (donate, landfill .. etc).eBay also gives you an idea of how "rare" or common a title is.

It seems that when an auction ends, you never see it again.
for older ebay history
Check the completed listings auction over in the left hand box.... under show only. I'm using Windows 7.Green prices are items that have been sold. They only list recent auctions but if you keep an eye on it (weekly) ... you will get an idea of how common or valuable something is.
For example .... type [Van Halen LP] ... then select [show only] completed listing

...in the upper right hand corner on Flea Bay.Then enter your search and check the "Sold" items box. That will bring up items sold in the last month or so.
