I believe that those connectors removed from a D-sub connector body will provide 99.999% performance compared to the most expensive audiophile types.
This is the right place for fine wire and connectors, considering the very low signal levels. I've had occasional trouble with my analog rig over the years traced to degraded connectors and/or damaged wire in the headshell.
There is some decent looking stranded, Teflon-insulated wire on eBay- one labelled: "Mil-Spec 30-AWG Silver Plated Electrical Wire Solid Yellow-Teflon US-Seller" with 50 ft. for about $15. Enough for maybe 6000 leads, all yellow!
I really love these Craftsman miniature tools for work like this- best $10 bucks you'll ever spend.
I looked thru all my old bookmarks for that very link.
Thanks, I'd hate for that great technique to go unattributed.
