I agree with Tre'. It might be better to use a dry brush before each play instead of a wet brush. I just use a carbon fiber Audioquest brush.I think the best approach is to clean your records one time thoroughly with a record cleaning machine and replace them into a new inner sleeve. Then, you really should never need to wet-clean them again if you replace them in their inner sleeve immediately after each play. All they probably need is to be dry-brushed before each play.
I never liked the Discwasher brush because it is rounded instead of flat and I always thought it probably made better contact in the middle of the LP. Carbon fiber brushes are flat and make contact across the entire playing surface of the LP. Another brush I like that is also flat is the Nitty Gritty Record Brush.
Good luck,
John Elison

The records are cleaned first on a DIY machine, then I dry brush with either a CF brush or, usually, a dry Discwasher brush.
We have cats. The CF brush just pushes cat hairs around the record surface but the Discwasher will pick them up.

I've always dry-brushed before each play using the Discwasher brush without any problems. While the ends of the pad are rolled up, as John said, I still get full contact across the entire playing surface. Also, you are supposed to slowly roll the brush from front side to rear side as the LP rotates and the orientation of the fibers (forward) allow for the trapping of particles, hair, etc. I do this as the LP rotates on the platter and it's just one more advantage to having a direct-drive TT.

lightly dry brush with the DW.
Back in the day, I still used the D3 and later D4 fluid and I'd never do that again.
