I was looking to buy a history book, DVD whatever is more interesting of the history of records and also of record labels. If anyone knows of any books and or DVD's well written and informative I would appreciate some tips.
Thanks in advance

I've had the following link for a few years now, so don't recall how I originally came across it, but it contains a lot of interesting label and title information. I suppose the authors could have turned it into a book by now, but haven't heard anything about that. Enjoy.
add in vinylbeat for labelography pics (and some covers/titles), more info and I'd estimate one is 75 % there without a paper page in sight.
"Once this was all Black Plasma and Imagination" -Michael McClure
"Perfecting Sound Forever" Greg Milner. A detailed and fascinating book (available in hard copy and Kindle) that covers the development of recorded sound from earliest days to date. It is not so much concerned with detailed technology or individual labels (except where germane) but is particularly good in tracking the cultural and philosophical background towards deciding what good recorded sound should be and how the concept has developed and changed.
I guarantee that some of the facts therein will surprise you.
Not a book but a wealth of information here'
