I picked up a Joe Cocker album at our bi-monthly record show. It was only $2, but when I examined it, it was obviously very warped. I thot, well, this will be a challenge for my vinyl flat record flattener. I wanted to do a before & after video, but when I put the record on the 'table, the edge warp was so bad, I didn't want to drop my newly retipped DL103R on it. So, this is the after video. Trust me; the warp was as bad as I've seen. My process was clamping the the record in the vinyl flat, placing it in the heating pouch, & letting it bake for 24 hrs. Then I let the record cool still clamped in the vinyl flat for another 24 hrs. This video shows the result. I am very pleased. No sound on video, but record sounds great, too. Yea! for vinyl flat!

Don't remember the exact details of what I did, but it worked. I think I did a couple of three or four hour stints. It's not perfect, but the record plays fine. I quit while I was ahead, since it's a really hard record to find, Sheffield Labs S9, the first of the Lincoln Mayorga & Friends direct to disc recordings. I have managed to go too far and ruin a couple records. I have learned to be very careful using the VF with early stereo discs, especially DGG tulip label discs.
Excellent results there. Your 3-4 hr increments makes sense, esp with rare find rekkids. I've had enough incompletes, not fails, that I tend to bake all day & cool all night with great results. The rekkid in the OP was so severe, tho, I decided to go extra long, & it's not exactly a rare record or costly to replace. I should've videoed the before like you, without a needle drop. Will do next time for really severe warps.
IIRC, VF specs indicate a relatively wide +/- range on the heating pouch, like low 120 degrees F up to ~140+. Mine is pretty much dead on optimal @ 132F. Love the product. My repaired list justifies cost.

Jim

Can't see the video or a link. Your process mimics mine as well. I think that long cool down cycle helps. No proof, just opinion.
I may have read your & bruckner9's posts re not being reluctant to experiment with longer bake & cool times. Thx. You might not be able to view embedded video on ipad. Below is link to the video on YouTube.

Congrats!
I usually manage to cure 90% of records, mostly new editions. Some of records made in the 60s - 80s are uncurable, though...
