Earth, Wind and Fire were the bomb!

Follow Ups:
And if my cartridge was back from Sound Smith (oh, the waiting...), I would have spun Head To The Sky and Way Of The World last night.
For those that believe in a higher power- that must be one heck of a super group up there by now (just in the last 12 months alone!).

Analog Junkie
This is practically their Anthem.
I love all the E,W & F LPs but if I owned only the first 5 plus Sweet Sweetbacks... I would be more than just happy.

I will start off from where you left off. :DOpen Your Eyes

PowerlightI owned at one point all of E,W,F catalogue, too except the last vinyl release in 2013.
Just purchased the last of Maurice White EWF vinyl 'Millennium'. I wasn't aware this is available in LP ( released 1993 ) so this will complete my collection.

Nice! A lot of great music there. Thanks for posting.

Hi. That is a great LP. I did a quick posting and left some out as a result. I should have posted the soundtrack to Melvin Van Peebles "Sweet Sweetback's Baadasssss Song" with music by Earth, Wind and Fire.

but I most like about them is the rich harmonic blend with funky beats and killer horn section which is unmistakably E,W&F.

Indeed. Their music was so positive; truly, when I felt down and out, I played "Singasong"...
RIP.
E,W+F can put me in a place that transcends worldly woes. Their first few LPs do it for me with an often spiritual sound, funk and occasional acidic guitar.
Still spinnin'...,

Us again. Great musician.
What a lot of people don't know is that he was a very good drummer! And was EWF's original drummer. Then him and Freddy White split duties until Freddy was the main drummer.
He will be missed. RIP Maurice!
took over Red Holt's spot.
He wrote 'Sun Goddess' for Lewis which is one of my favourite EWF tune out of many.
And is not an easy tune to do vocal wise. I have to yet hear a band that I have played with or heard ever do that tune, more or less WANT to do that tune! That says alot.
The Ramsey Lewis one and the Live version on the Gratitude album back in 76.
I love this version also. it's a hoot to play loud, isn't it? :)
With Grover Washington soloing on that! So many nice tunes Maurice wrote for EWF along with Denise Williams ("Free") that album and her second as well. Along with others
Yes they were!!
Rest In Peace.
I also see that Micronauts action figure too (LOL).
