Hi Guys,
I picked up a decent PL15D only to find a 50hz label by the motor. Where could I get a new pulley to make it 60hz? Any other ideas to make it 60hz would be appreciated.
Thanks!!
Scott

Hi Scholl,
As you mentioned the easiest way is to secure a pulley for 60 Hz. I believe they were supplied with both pulleys, but it may be a trick to find one now. If you know a good machinist a new one can be machined. The diameter will be 5/6th of that of the 50 pulley. Do mind the crowing as it is necessary to make the belt run true. I also recommend starting with bar stock and leaving the old pulley intact should the machining not go as well as hoped.
The other approach, and what I would likely do, is provide 50 Hz for the machine. This can be done with a function generator and ~ 20 Watt audio amp with an HVAC control transformer to step up the amp output to 120 or 240 Volts.
If you are interested I'll show you a photo of an experiment which I did with my Rondine 2 with a variable frequency drive using that approach.
I linked the manual at Vinylengine.

I guest it's best to just wait for another onethat's 60hz to come along.
Thanks
