I sold my Denon dp1200 and bought this beautiful Kenwood semi auto deck for the family living room. First listenning with the apterture maui mc (sumiko bp clone) and it sounds fabulous. I need to fine tune the set up a bit so it can only get better here.
The only problem I have is that the lid hinges arent holding position, its a bit off topic but I wonder if anyone knws how to fix a hinge like this

If it's just the spring going weak, you may try and press out the metal pin to take the unit apart, if possible. Then stretch the spring so the 2 ends are further apart, when the lid is closed the ends are close together, over time they tend to weaken.
Occasionally, they come up for sale on Ebay. But you may end up with a second set of weak hinges.

I believe that someone here has said before that the LINN hinge replacements you see on ebay may work as a replacement. I know others have tried repairs with all kinds of stuff, including JB Weld, but I'd rather replace these.
I'm interested in a source of replacement also as I'm soon to acquire a KD-650 from my friend that I sold it to 30 years ago -- excited to have it back and play with it as a second 'table. Everything is still in good shape except those hinges. I had put a Audio Technica magnesium headshell on it, and a Marcof (sp?) Glassmat. Can't wait to put a Denon 103 or something similar on it!
