This is a really nice release from Silva Screen Records. If you're a Jerry Goldsmith fan I can't recommend it highly enough. A fantastic score on 180g and a very quiet pressing.
Follow Ups:
I remember this from 1985 but never saw the film. I looked it up on Wikipedia and was surprised to see how complicated it was to make.
Did you know that there were two soundtracks. Both utterly different? I knew very little about the film.
From Wikipedia:
Due to the changes in the film from its European and American releases, Legend has two different soundtracks. The first, produced and composed by Jerry Goldsmith, was used for its initial European release and restored in the director's cut edition of the Region 1 DVD release. The second soundtrack features music by German electronic artists Tangerine Dream and was used for the initial theatrical and home video releases in the United States. This soundtrack also includes songs by Jon Anderson of Yes and Bryan Ferry of Roxy Music. Both soundtracks are available on CD, although the Tangerine Dream soundtrack has become harder to find.
yes, I knew there were two scores, I have them both. Even though I am a huge Tangerine Dream fan I prefer Jerry Goldsmith's score. Both are worth having though. I saw the movie way back but don't remember too much of it. I'd love to see it again with JG's original score.
