Mastering is what they do in the studio. That's a pressing job.

In fact, they're not pressed at all. They're cut individually on a lathe onto a plastic of some kind.

The pressing is made from plates.The plates are made from processing the lacquers.
The lacquer are cut with a lacquer cutting lathe.
The master file (or master analog tape in the old days) is transferred to the lacquer.
Transferring the master file/tape to the lacquer is called mastering.
My question is, why would anyone want a non-concentric record?

So I have to pay $60 a year to be able to pay for records? I don't get it.
Cool EP though. A nice oddity to have in the collection. Like Jack White's album.
