In combination with Wyred 4 Sound integrated & Focal 836v speakers, he's moved entirely into another league. I lub my SL 1210 with mods, but the Prime is certainly worth every dime of the price tag, IMHO. I hope he posts his impressions after he's had more time with it. Great 'table.

I agree w/ Opus better get the Prime , better value than the M1 . I've listened to the M1 before in a friends system hooked up to the TOL audio research Reference & B&W 800 sig speakers , I think the VPI is a better buy . When my friend got himself a SME Model 30 & VPI HR-X there was no comparison , M1 was put on sale . Heard the M1 again in the system of the guy who bought it from my friend & still the dry character persisted.
Although I have not heard the Prime I doubt you can't go wrong w/ it even w/o the SDS . I've been into VPI's since my 1st HW19 JR and current ownership of the TNT 6 and HR-X.
One thing nice w/ the M1 it sure looks cool.
