Just got this yesterday, shipped from Acoustic Sounds.
Man, talk about a record that is a major subwoofer workout disc!
If I had to sum up this music as a stand alone piece (I've only seen Tron: Legacy once), it is the love child of a three-way between Bernard Herrman, Philip Glass and Wendy Carlos (draw your own conclusions!); amazing synth sounds (hints of Tomita and Synergy), great orchestration (more Glass-like repetitive string parts and a lot of horn work outs in spots) and a mastering job (done at Bernie Grundman Mastering) that makes the music grab you, rattle your brain (and listening area).
I was rather surprised at the quality of this offering. While it is NOT an Analog Productions release, Disney (yes, Walt Disney Records) must know it's market for a soundtrack like this. Quiet surface with maybe one or two ticks here and there. Like the Blade Runner soundtrack released by Audio Fidelity a few years ago, I am baffled how they managed to cut this much bottom end onto the two discs.
Not for the faint of heart or Crosley turntable owners!

Don't worry about avoiding temptation. As you grow older, it will avoid you.

I've got that on both CD and Omnivore Limited Edition coloured vinyl.
It was a good thing cuz, the original pressing was going for a several hundreds.
Another of my 90s fave is Ben Folds Five.
Dman, I know many a happy people glad to see this re-pressed. It's a really good score.I just discovered this group last weekend and got this on Thursday. I had to force my self to take it off the table today. One terrific album! I love it!!

'Kind of into a Baroque thing over here. Actually I've been reading some Neal Stephenson and the first of his Baroque cycle novels. (Quicksilver) He's got the atmosphere well described so I'm adding some period correct music to add to the experience. (But please don't challenge me to a duel...;-)
The two Boccherini albums are on the Westminster label. One of the outer jackets (collection 1) has the older style 'hard like a book' thing going for it. And the lead-out groove does an oscillating fore-aft kind of thing. Decent recordings and in VG+ condition. The appearance of these two Lps suggests that they did not get a lot of play.
Those are the two Baroque Lps in play for today. Later on it is romance period. If you include Beethoven in that genre. In his way he's responsible for starting the whole movement, iirc.
The 1812 Tchaikowsky album is an Ormandy/Philladelphia symphony recording on columbia. Stereo 6 eye.
The plain wrapper Angel to the right is the Hungarian quartet performing Beethoven string quartet opus 132. It is a 'made in england' pressing so is not completely horrible as Angel Lps go.
And the 'spare Td124' is holding up the Ormandy album since it is next in the que. Entirely proper, I think.
happy spins.

BTW, I've now moved through The Police "Ghost in the Machine" and am now spinning the Robert Lugwig mastered Metallica "And Justice For All".
It's a free for all around here today!!!
