Hi Awe-d-file,
What you need to do is go see Dr. Wonmug (Alley-Oop's friend) and have him send you back to get one. You should probably also pick up a couple of Marantz 8s while you are there.

Yep, the 7 pre was 249 and the 8 was only 179.

Quick side trip to an inflation calculator shows that (not sure when the advert was from) but assume between 1950 and 1960 then $99.95 is $805-$989 in 2015 $. Next look at eBay and see TD-124 selling for ~$1000 w/o arm -- so does this mean we should be investing in hi-fi as a hedge against inflation :-)
I think w/o a doubt

Right after you've exhausted every known Ponzi scheme. :-)

Marantz 7 and 8 were $249 and $179 in 1960. The sell for a ridiculous price now. Imagine having the pair NIB to sell now! Alas pickin g the right ones to buy is the challenge and likely would not work for much of anything made much after that era.

I had a 4-speed turntable once. I think it was a Garrard.
