So that makes it a 100% fail rate for you.

Hi there. I'm not sure what your point is. I don't mean to be rude, but if you mean to imply that some quality metric can be derived from a sample set of one, I think there are issues with your logic. I don't know you, and am not concerned with your opinion of Rega products or which competitors you might favor instead. I also do not waste my time in internet ego battles, so will not be continuing this conversation. Good day.
Oh, not at all. I have a particular respect for Rega equipment that does not seem to be widely shared on this forum. That respect is based on Rega build quality and sound quality.
That you actually bought a Rega table and seem to like it already indicates that your ego far outweighs your objectivity.
"That you actually bought a Rega table and seem to like it already indicates that your ego far outweighs your objectivity."
That makes absolutely no sense, no matter what one's opinion of Rega.
Why would you feel the need to insult me personally because - apparently - I prefer a different turntable than you?
That question is rhetorical; I am now going to do what I said I would and end the discussion. You may have the last word.
(Thanks for reminding me why I waste very little of my time on internet forums anymore.)
I am with you on this Paul. I am always sorry to see this sort of thing. Perhaps it is meant to be banter? Personally, I have always been in love with whatever table I had at the time but didn't feel the need to look down on anyone else's choice even if it would not have been my choice. Every single table, no matter the cost requires some forms of compromise. Sometimes, it may take years to figure out what they are, but they are always there. I don't have much experience with the P-8, but have heard several P-6's at our local shop and have always gone away thinking, I should sell my large, heavy, fiddly table and just get back to basics by getting an 8 or even a 10. As for the PSU, that is unfortunate but if it is made by the hand of man, it can break. Hope the warranty will get it for you.
