The TTPSU is powered by a wall wart? Hmm.. It been a few years since I had a P5.
I remember it being hardwired with the AC cord. Guess Rega changed things up with the design.
Seems a little odd, but I'm no EE. Rectify before the box? The P5 could be run by either a plain ol wall wart or TTPSU and I couldn't hear a difference. The speed selection made it a keeper.
I have heard that table with the Aphaeta. Very nice. If the RP10 were the same cost as the
VPI that replaced my Rega, I seriously would have considered it.
The fact you won't strain your back moving it makes very attractive. While I don't mind the sequence one must go through,(clamp, unclamp, turn off/on)I just left the P5 running and plop a record on. When finished, remove and drop another one. I don't however, think I would put up with an unclamped record now. Especially if I forked out 1k+ for a decent cart.
Follow Ups:
Record clamp means I listen to vinyl 50% less. I'm that lazy.
On the weight, I can juggle four RP8 plinths, getting them up a good eight feet.
Seriously, it looks/feels cheap as hell, and sounds absolutely fantastic. There is zero overhang or smear, yet none of the weaknesses of mass-loaded tables with insufficient mass. It is the best of analog with no analog weaknesses, or the best of digital with no digital weaknesses - take your pic.
But I don't care and don't want to argue about this table vs. that table. I don't care what anyone else prefers or has bought.
Couldn't find a really nice pic.
I think if you can even get one, its around the same price as the VPI DD?
I'm a lifetime bin diver, and now and then a must have for a couple bucks will have a little bump. That would drive me nuts, seeing my ridiculously expensive cart bobbing up and down! The clamp flattens them out. I'm used to seeing the cart just glide across the record virtually motionless.

That is Roy Gandy's opus magnum. All carbon fiber, it was made a couple of years back.
I don't recall the other technical features that separate it from the RP10, but there is stuff about it on the other forums.
I think a limited amount were made and all were sold. the price tag was over 30-40k ?

I have very, very few warped records.
However, even with them, sonic penalties of the surfing are pretty low.
