Just got a Jelco 750-LB 12" arm.
Does everyone use the damping oil?
Mounting a Nagaoka MP-150 cartridge.
Using this with a new project Bogen B62 with multi-layer plinth.
Pics up soon.
Thanks.

i have the B62 with the 370H and ATOC9II. i tried the oil years ago with a different cart, 440mla and didnt notice a difference. i love the Bogen with the heavy plinth.
I've tried it with a SA-750D and Lyra Clavis da Capo. It helped tame a bit of the CdC's upward tilt, but I didn't particularly care for the overall results.
I think it's a matter of arm-cart matching and personal taste. The directions that come with the arm are pretty specific on how to use the damping oil. Just give it a try to see how it makes your arm-cart combo behave.
I've used a Nag MP-150 on mine. Works well. The Nag is a bit lower compliance than most MMs.

I was hoping you'd chime in and let me know that it was a good combo.
Your original take on the MP150 was what led me to buy.
The Jelco and Nagaoka are $$$ expenditures for me.
I'm accustomed to doing everything on the cheap.
Do you use the damping oil in your arm?
Thanks.
restoration. I've never used the arm without it.

I remember following his restoration of the TD150.
Yours is the black one and his is the green one.
He does amazing work.
Do you run your Nagaoka level VTA or tail down a little?
I'm having trouble getting level VTA even with a thick mat.
Thanks.

It probably does help depending on the arm-cart combo and personal taste. IIRC, the 750-series arm tubes are quite different from the 370 (I may be wrong) and more sensitive to the damping oil.
The damping fluid made more than a subtle difference with a 750D and Clavis da Capo combo which is thin and a bit bright after a reasonable break-in period.
YMMV.
