Agree about Fred McDowell. Several years ago, I made a nice thrift store score of some blues LP's. One was a first issue Arhoolie LP "Delta Blues". It is one of my favorite lps. His voice and guitar playing are without equal.

You are correct. I should have qualified my statement with "In my humble opinion..."

There's Blind Willie McTell from Georgia, Blind Boy Fuller from the Carolinas, Son House, Casey Bill Weldon, Kokomo Arnold, Robert Johnson, Blind Lemon Jefferson, Charles Brown, and the list goes on for great acoustic blues guitarists. I also like Fred McDowell.

John Jackson got most of his LPs. Maybe with me its not the artist as much as it is the style of the blues. Whoever wrote Robert Jr. Lockwood I cant argue with that or the person who gave a great long list of artist can't argue with either, all respectible blues artist to my ears. I have a lockwood recording oh the name name escapes me I (I have several of his) but I will look it up all his Trix recordings are so fine. But this one recording now if you want pure perfect sound it wont please your ears, but the heart of the recording knocks me out. I will find it. Just in case you dont have it. Better stop now.
I agree with you and forgot that I have a good John Jackson LP. Below are some of the other acoustic blues artists that I like.
I have "In The Evening" on Delta Crossroads. I saw him perform every song on the album (CD) at Chad Kassem's Blues at the Crossroads in Salina. He was on the stage by himself and sounded just like the Youtube recording to me, like there is more than one guitar. I read that Robert Johnson, his step dad, taught him to play like that.
So far, I have only one LP of his. He plays with Otis Spann on Otis Spann Is The Blues.
Lockwood and Gatemouth Brown are my two favorites. Fred and Mr Hooker aren't far behind.
Wow you two guys have what is part of my record collection. I say part because I have so many good to hear the blues are still alive and spinning.
