Been dreaming to own of these since their introduction some 25 years ago...
Just a friendly caution from an ELP owner...I'm not trying to dissuade you, but for the money spent on an ELP, you have to have a specific reason for needing the optical playback system. In some cases you hear cutting defects that are masked by needle playback and you will hear every dust spec and defect that exists in a groove so it works best as a transcription tool if you do post-processing to remove the glitches - If you are a collector of vintage discs, then it is certainly invaluable. However, you are likely to be disappointed if you expect it to sound "better" than a really good mechanical system.
