Follow Ups:
Heard it in the 70s. Owned by a HS chum Father's LP/Stereo and I was hooked. Still have the 70 red Columbia version I found in the early 80s. Also have the Mosaic box of this band '64 - '66?
My favorite jazz band, ever since.

I have the same LP. My only comparison is the Spotify stream which is a different sounding mastering. I'll need to revisit that, it was my impression on listening to the LP the first time.
I really enjoy it - quiet pressing, stellar musicians....
I'm just wondering how this compares. I see Music Direct has the MoFi release available.
No. But IMHO the sound is awesome, like with all MoFi's I have.

I spun the following last night;
Rough Trade- "Umbrella; Rough Trade Live!" Direct to Disc. This was done as more of a comparison between pressing numbers 12019 and 1265, which are actually different sessions of the same songs.
Led Zepellin "I". The new Jimmy Page remastered LP. Okay, I guess, but there is way to much emphasis on the guitars and vocals, with the drums, bass and other instruments seeming to almost be an afterthought. My Page-mastered Japanese Obi CD sounds worlds better. A waste of money...
And finally, in the don't hate me because it's a CD category-
Dave Grusin's "The Gershwin Connection". A very well done, tastefully mixed project that sounds pretty darned good... For a CD, that is! I forgot just how good the music was; I haven't listened to this in about 10-12 years.
Cheers,
Dman
