As MM/HO phono preamp, the 300 is superior, but not by a lot. It is a bit more open and transparent on top. The Mani, however, also offers LOMC capability, albeit with only one loading option, 47 Ohms.
I had the Yaqin MS-22B and prefer the Advent 300's phono preamp, but again, not by a lot.
These 3 are very close.

Superior, but not by a lot? Hummmm, in my book superior is way better.....

It is self evident.

I agree with audioguy.
It should be "Its better by a bit" not "Superior by a bit". Superior is "far better".
Let the discussion's begin .
In order to indicate degree, a qualifier is required, i.e. "vastly superior" or "marginally superior."In the above comparison, the latter applies.

Ok, I guess its a matter of semantics.
It's superior, but not by a lot. - or,
Its better, but not by a lot.
?
Opus 33 1/3
Or you could just check a dictionary and clearly see that Opus is correct. Not really any room for argument.
" ... great or greater in amount, number, or degree."
Tomlinson Holman designed the phono section. It has a well deserved reputation for being a seriously high resolution/high accuracy piece of kit. I use anAdvent 300 as the phono section in my vintage system, feeding a Fisher 500 C.
Opus 33 1/3
I have heard it and it was a very good phono section, but I would have expected the newer stuff to beat it (but I have not heard either of the ones you discussed). I listen to only vintage. Have you heard the Apt-Holman Preamp. If so, how does it rate? It was well thought of when I was in the business.

Can't disagree. I have very good results with my vintage equipment.
