Well I just got off the phone with Music Hall and was talking about what I was going to do with my TT and as soon as I said I was going to put on a Grado cart he said sorry you will get hum, he had an accent so hard to hear but he told me did you buy it yet>? No he said he likes grado but not with the TT I have so now I have to look for a good match a MM cart to use with my older model Music Hall TT I guess I saved money? Have others had problems with the Grado cart with the Music Hall TT ? And what MM cart with a medium arm original arm did you go with if you had problems. But he was adamat about the cart "it WILL hum sorry but the wiring he used in the design caused it." So now what cart? Any people have experience with the older model table and what cart did you use.? I love the midrange sound.

So what is your suggestion for a Music Hall MMF 5 MM cart ?
Try an ortofon 2m BLue
Grinnel, have you listened to one before just curious of the sound if you had one you could let me know. Good thing that guy at Music Hall told me not to go Grado, that was decent of him. I will look up the cart in the meanwhile.
Thanks.
...in many turntables.
The guys over at Audiokarma have a spreadsheet for this. All three users who tried a Grado on the MMF-5 got hum, so it definitely hums with your turntable.
Look for a 2nd hand Ortofon VMS MKII and get a new 20 or 30 stylus. Should match your expressed preferences and will be at home on the arm. Sub $200 all in.
The customer is then charged what he is likely to stand. ...
