If sold what is Albert Porter using for a turntable?
Follow Ups:
I'm not sure what created the confusion but I have not abandoned the Technics MK3 nor the plinth designed by John Semrad and myself.
I recently had Music Technology rebuild a MK3 that was super clean and a customer wanted one so I did indeed sell the MK3 I've been using all this time in favor of this new one.
The reason was purely cosmetic, my original was near perfect and the new one is better still. Walking into the room and looking no one would know there was a change unless you are super observant.
Sorry I misunderstood about the Mk3 motor unit.
This whole thing was a bit amusing that so many were concerned by the potential of "what next?"

I spoke with Albert today at THE Show Newport. He sold the plinth for his SP10-Mk3 but retained the motor unit, arm, and cartridge. I didn't ask why. Now obviously he can replace it without too much difficulty.

He's probably ready to try out a new and different plinth design. As he admits, every design is a set of compromises. A touch more salt here, a dash more pepper there...

...why do we care if he sold his table ?
Will the repercussions be interplanetary ?
Dean.
reelsmith's axiom: Its going to be used equipment when I sell it, so it may as well be used equipment when I buy it.
Albert's plinths are legendary in some circles. You won't find closer attention to detail and better craftsmanship on a plinth anywhere.
He is a dealer and a commercial photographer. Many of the photos you see of high end gear, in ads, are taken by Albert Porter.

So, he might have sold his table.
What's the backstory on why this is worthy of discussion ?
Thanks again.

Was this on Fox News? Where did you get the info?
Maybe he got an offer he could not refuse.

I can imagine it: Sean Hannity mistaking the SP10 for a George Foreman grill.
Note that all turntables rotate to the right.
.....what goes to the right will have to go back left.
