And do we know if the compliance changes with the SAS stylus?
It is WAY better in every respect except it can tend to be a little "bright" on some recordings. Bass, dynamic contrasts, detail - all considerably better. It does seem to be a bit different compliance-wise as - on my SME-IV the resonant frequency is about 7-hz. Presents no problems with woofer pumping or anything else. It is a fair bit higher in gain as well - not especially welcome.
On the Telarc Firebird you'd better start out at modest volume because the crescendi will blow you away otherwise.

I would prefer a higher compliance out of the Shure V15 VxMR for use with the Rega 303 at 11.5 grams effective mass (estimated).
SME Series II Improved is a very light arm (9 grams effective mass?) a perfect match, I suspect, for the V15 VxMR
is 11 gms. So - I am confused
