....didn't want to step on anyone's toes and do a WTF, so here's a web page...pay special attention to the Baasner turntable, the first one on the list.
Which one would you like to try? I kinda like #14.

SME !
What's the synchro doing in that list?
nos 3 or 4, I can't handle stuff that looks Rube Goldberg. Besides the VPI and SME are both great tables and probably cheaper than the other two.

Hi, slapshot,
I'd take the SME 30 because...
I have a SME 309 tonearm and really like the SME sliding base approach to aligning cartridges and, I've always wanted to hear a SME V tonearm for comparison.
Plus, the dust cover I have would fit the SME 30.
There are several other turntables that would be a hoot to try out but they are obsurdly massive and/or look like maintenance nightmares.
Regards,
Tom
PS: Interesting twist on the WTF theme; nice job.
Because it looks like it would be the easiest to set up and maintain! =:-0
Sort of like buying a wooden boat in old age. "I don't want to sail it, I just want to fix it."

I don't think it's actually a turntable.
It may just be a record cleaning machine.

It might be a 'sneeze guard'.

I see several possibilities, I hope it comes with instructions :)...

I just read about the new Thomas Schick TT. Idler wheel drive, larger idler wheel than usual, modern quiet motor with big torque, 14 inch platter with the mass in the rim of the platter, good main bearing. Sounds promising and a welcome departure from the usual acrylic mass belt drive high end TT IMHO.

........one slammy beast.
I'd expect Thomas's first offering in the world of turntables to be a model that best served the timing for his already well regarded tonearms. And his tonearms most often show up on idler TT's. Typically, Schick arms carry cartridges of the SPU variety and other low output / low compliance MC carts.

Any idea of the cost of the Schick-14?
Does the Baasner come with a lab coat and goggles, or do you buy that yourself? Seems like there should be a bunsen burner in there somewhere :)
With Doc Brown from Back to the Future operating it. It also needs a bunch of dials.

I have always found the Oracles quite gorgeous, and have great respect for the SME design.
I wouldn't give houseroom to most of the others, though, especially the Baasner.

had no inspiration for WTF...so i was going to skip it....

mainly because I haven't heard it.
I have heard some of the table listed but I wasn't that thrilled with any of them.
So hifi and no sense of fun whatsoever.
I wouldn't want any one of them. They all look pretty grotesque to me.
I like clean and simple.....
