Kings Day today here in Holland. Lots of bad loud "live" music (mainly dance DJ's), people wearing silly orange clothes, lots of beer. And flea markets!
It still pays to go, and check every stand in every street. A babyboomer was selling his records, 2 euro a piece. Halfway the crate i hit gold. 5 Beatles records plus 2 George Harrison solo LP's. All in NM condition.
Other LP finds: Courtney Pine, Keith Jarrett, Luther Allison, Bill Bruford, Loyd Cole & Commotions.
No vintage TT or other hardware to mention. The days when i found working TD150 TT on these markets are over.

It's a mix of pressings, UK, US Capitol, Italian. The Capitol White album didn't sound so hot. But the UK Let it be! Those strings!
That's what this hobby is about. The right vintage pressings. The playback equipment should be secondary.

Very cool. I found a German pressing of The Beatles this week end $3.00 US. Does any one know if they put a different version of Revolution #1 on the US version? The album sounds like I remember it except for that song much slower and mellower.

No, that's the correct version. On The Beatles (The White Album) Revolution 1 was slow and mellow.
Here's what Lennon had to say about it:
" The first take of Revolution - well, George and Paul were resentful and said it wasn't fast enough. Now, if you go into the details of what a hit record is and isn't, maybe. But The Beatles could have afforded to put out the slow, understandable version of Revolution as a single, whether it was a gold record or a wooden record. But because they were so upset over the Yoko thing and the fact that I was becoming as creative and dominating as I had been in the early days, after lying fallow for a couple of years, it upset the applecart. I was awake again and they weren't used to it."
