Daleda.....and just why do you think that record mats exist at all.?? Before you ridicule my typing skills, know what you're talking about.
If a mat makes that much difference then your system probably sucks to begin with!

#5 is why I use the Funk mat and an inexpensive acrylic.
anything non-compliant has worked best for me: acrylic, whatever the Funk is made of..cork also has an attribute of increasing apparent detail in my system but is somewhat 'flat' as well. I have heard more dynamics using Funk mat and acrylic. The acrylic mat i use is very thin and the Funk mat is 4mm.
I have yet to try the Herbie's so am interested to hear further what Henry has to say.
