I bought several of these as gifts a few years ago. They are all still working fine and have kept their accuracy. Price is definitely right.

I use one as well, no difference in performance compared to a $100 digital scale. I cut a small piece of stick on felt and placed it in the center to protect the stylus.

I have one from another source within 50 cents of that price. It was DOA but was just a battery terminal (+) issue and a quick solder fixed it. I have used it and find it works well and have also found that about any tonearm with a calibratable scale is close enough and use it for crappy tables/changers etc. with no scale.Yesterday I used it on a crappy Audio Technica with a built in phono preamp. It had no adjustment for tracking force we could find and no service manual on VE. I took a blob of JB weld and some lead shot to make a counterweight and used the scale to get the desired tracking force for his replacement stylus. The stock stylus was looking for 3 grams and badly worn. The replacement he (improperly) bought was 1.5 to 2.5 grams. As the arm was it was over 5 grams and made the scale say "MAX" and this is a TT that came with an AT mag cart.
