the last time I checked with him about getting another one, he was backed up and could not get to it for a few months.
Might check with him. He might already have one he could restore/upgrade for you.
A lot of SL-1900s were black. Be sure whatever technics you get is an MKII version. MKIs were servo speed control. MKIIs are quartz lock speed control.

You guys must be lucky, it's getting to the point where a top notch 1600 mkII in the Canadian market can fetch $800-$1k easily.

$600+. Four years ago, I paid $165 for mine in somewhat rough shape. When word got out they basically were an automatic SL-1200 with suspended subchasis, prices went way up.

I'm thinking I might actually prefer sl 1700 mkii, same but auto-return only if not mistaken ... had to watch that go by a few months ago, real nice one too!
