I've had mixed results with some of the Chinese stuff. I've been playing with cheap chip amps, and have had several expire (one caught fire). Makes me a bit leary.

His exact words were "quiet and clear".
He has some work to do on the Philips 212. The power button will not latch in the "on" position when pressed, and the 45 speed is inoperative. I replaced the large capacitor within, but that didn't restore said speed.
