of the Van man's classic LPs on a rainy winter day off. Right now Into the Music is on. Last LP was one of my all time favorites, Poetic Champions Compose. Van hasn't done a good to great LP in a long while. He's such a curmudgeon, often an asshole, but such talent! Any other Van fans out there? What are you spinning?

Sorry but that name conjurs up an image I'd rather not have. ;-)

A while ago i scored 6 Van Cd's used for a tenner. And i have lots of LP's of Van the Man. Timeless soul music IMHO.
"The torture never stops"Greetings Freek.
Inarticulate Bpeech of the Heart.
One of my faves. If you don't have it, find it!
I have been a Van fan for many years and have most of his LPs available in US issue and a few not available as well as CDs up to The Healing Game. After that I thought Van was basically going through the motions, trying to cash in and his CDs only a few decent songs on each. He penned far too many rants about the music business and how he got screwed. I lost interest for the most part.
(Oops, that Inarticulate "Speech" of the heart)
But always feared that seeing him live would ruin everything for me.
I have just about everything he's ever done on CD, and most of the vinyl too, although I still need Poetic Champions Compose on vinyl. I do wish that two of his best CDs were on vinyl - A Night In San Francisco, which is a great live album with a super hot band (Georgie Fame! Candy Dulfer!, etc) and Hymns to the Silence, maybe his greatest release.
I have both the original Astral Weeks and the Live Version.....
Great memories. Poetic Champions Compose is also one of my favorites, but my all time favorite from Van Morrison is His Band and the Street Choir
LP is excellent! Van sounds happy to be alive on that song. Fancy that.
