I have the 12" version and am using it right now with a Denon 301 II. Sounds great, almost as good as the JMW 10.5i I normally use. No mistracking, no issues. No hum, either, though there is no provision for a ground wire. Definitely a high mass arm, so high-compliance carts are a no-no.EDIT: Aren't these wood arms still available from the mfgr? Just checked and their website is still up.

I actually bought one of these new from Tonearm Audio a while ago. I sent it back because I was underwhelmed by the build quality. The new arms have a plastic cartridge clip that is rickety and wobbly. It's a horrible design. I'm looking for the older version with the slotted headshell.
The Denon DL-301II that I owned was a high-compliance cartridge. Mine had compliance of 24 x 10 -6 cm/dyne. I used it in a SME III tonearm.

... the Denon sounds terrific on the wood arm :-)
