I didn't care for my 2M Black at first. That started to change around 100 hours, less subtle beyond that, probably settled in completely between 150 and 200 hours.
I'm very happy with it now. I've used expensive MC cartridges with my Orbe/Graham, brands like Lyra, Shelter and Dynavector. The 2M Black really works in my system, not missing the older cartridges at all. I listen to all kinds of music.
So unless you've been playing records 20 hours a day for the last week, give it more time before you make any changes.

The more hours I put on my 2M Black the more I decided it was a boring cartridge. No bad, but no cigar. For reference, my current favorite is a Grace F9E and others in my stable are the Soundsmith Zephyr, Shure V15VxMR (with JICO SAS stylus), Decca Super Gold Mk Vii and Pickering TL-2S. No LOMCs at the moment tho I have a Denon 301-II somewhere.
This helps a lot. I'm pushing 20 hours now and it's beginning to open up a lot. Still having trouble finding vocals and guitars sound muffled but there's been a definite improvement in the bass and mid. Listened to Colson Unity Troupe and it sounded fantastic.
What's eating me is the MC vs. MM switch but it sounds like the 2M's can compete with low-end MCs.
