It can be used for switching line level or phono signals. However, why would you want to put it in the tape monitor loop? You are adding to the signal path length. Just keep it to switch the desired source and feed it into your amp - you can still record as normal whatever the configuration you require.
If you are unsure, drop Kevin an email info@kabusa.com and he will be more than happy to answer any questions you have. I cannot speak highly enough of Kevin - I have been a customer of his for over 16 years and his products are well designed and thought out.

Thank you. I just purchased the KAB stereo canceller so I can listen to mono LPs through my musical fidelity integrated amp. I am unsure how to hook it up. Can I leave my phono cable directly into the phono inputs and hook the adapter into the tape monitor? That way wIth the tape monitor off I would be getting stereo and with the tape monitor on I would be getting mono, or do I have to put it between the phono cables and the phono input and have to rewire each time I want to change to mono?
ThankSam
