I want (I think! :-)) ) what Henry wants ... a mfr of belts - not materials to DIY.
In my case, I am looking for:
* 'O-ring' type belts made of silicone (not nitrile) - say 1/8" diameter material, but
* the diameter of an LP12 belt.
The mfrs of round-section TT belts that I have found ... make them too short. :-((

I like that Penguin
I only fish with fireline. Modern braids are amazing. Zero stretch.
Blood knot?

Belts are available
Thanks very much for the link, WM2 - very helpful, as I have been searching for round belts.
I emailed McMaster-Carr early this morning ... and promptly received the following reply (prompt was nice but does it seem illogical to you, too? :-)) ):
------------
Hi Andrew,
Thank you for considering McMaster-Carr for your purchase of round belts, but we decline to bid.
Due to the complexity of US export regulations, McMaster-Carr accepts international purchases only from our established international customers.

I half expected to get a reply saying they didn't want to deal internationally ... and sure enough, I did! (Even in 2014, there are pockets of the USofA which pay no attention to the rest of the world - and don't seem to realise that USPost does a great job of shipping internationally! :-)) )
No problem, of course - I simply get my good mate in Pennsylvania to place the order for me. :-))
